　　一伙盗墓贼无意间触动古巴比伦遗址的封印，唤醒了沉睡4000年之久的吸血魔（桥本力饰）。吸血魔携着狂风暴雨来到江户时期的日本，杀害伊豆地区长官并附身其上，混进官府。人类无法识破吸血魔的伪装，只有住在官府池塘内的河童（黑木现饰）看清其真身，但实力悬殊，无法取胜。吸血魔嗜血如狂，甚至残害儿童。河童集结其他妖怪反击，一度占居上风。吸血魔伺机逃跑，不久卷土重来，变本加厉为害人间。为了保护日本，河童等召集了全日本海?陆?空的百万妖怪，誓要将吸血魔彻底打败。
　　
　　本片拍摄于1968年，与《东海道惊魂》、《妖怪百物语》并称为“大映妖怪三部曲”。2005年由三池崇史重新翻拍。
